The New Browser in Town: Google Chrome

I wonder if Google will leave any stone unturned: Search Engine, Online Office (Documents), Image, News, Groups, (G)Mail, Alerts, Blog Search, Scholar Search, Book Search, Desktop Search, Maps, Earth, Finance, Health, Notebook, US Patent Search, Videos, Code, Custom Search, Labs … *sigh* … Blogger, Calendar, Orkut, Groups, Knol, Picasa, Reader, Sites, SketchUp, Translate (wow!), Talk, Mobile, SMS, Web Accelerator, and.. and…!! (Click here for the links of all the services mentioned here and many others by Google)

And, now, Google proudly presents to you:

CHROME – a browser which has “a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier”.

Folks, download and try it! My very own reaction to how the browser looks was ‘Whow!’… I’m not sure if I could use this word but ’sleek’ was the word which bubbled up in my mind!

See:

Yes, without any title bar! What it shows are the tabs on top. And, the thumbnails ’system’ (:)) is so nice… Love you Google! :)

Give this new child a chance to show you what it can do for you.. And, change is (almost) always good, as the revered Mahatma Gandhi has it, ‘Those who do not change are donkeys.’ (Sorry, not talking to you, sir!) :)

So, it’s your turn now.. Go ahead and click here to download Google Chrome.

Happy browsing! :)

  2. i found chrome to be a bit refreshing as compared to firefox. it lacks download software integration. the best thing about chrome is that we can shut down non responsive websites one by one.

  3. Yes, ‘refreshing’ is the word! :)

  4. Hey, if I download Chrome, would that mean I would loose all those favorites I have tagged in my IE?

  5. Uh, well, as far as I know, Chrome can only import details from Firefox, not IE…but not sure!

Wat u can do is to install Firefox, first, import your fav. lists and other details from IE (i assume u know tht Firefox asks for that on the first startup after installation), and, then, install Chrome and import the same details from Firefox :)

    Howzzat? :)

  6. The girly things I have going to do was to make a text files of all those links (by ofcourse, copying and pasting every single of them! :D ) and then when I have Chorome installed, I would go those sites again and tag them favorite!

Howzzat that for a genius solution? :D

  7. Well, keeping the word ‘girly’ in mind which u’v used, that’s great :)

  8. But you do know that president of P@SHA (Pakistan Software Houses Association) is a girl, Jahan Ara, don’t you?? :P

  9. Didnt know that…bt dznr prove tht every girl would show the same competence, dzit?

  10. But it sure does prove that every girl won’t show the same incompetence like me! :P

  11. True! But, see, the traditional approach has it tht girls arnt competitive by default :) (I assure u tht i dnt espouse such notions. Ask my friends:) )

  12. i downloaded this, this morning!
    it is FAB!
    thank youuuuuuuuu :D !

  13. Now i have three browsers: IE, firefox and chrome… Chrome is definitely light on the system resources and yet packed with all the necessary features needed to make browsing user-friendly

But one thing i realized is that you can easily transform your firefox into chrome and even better, by just adding a few plugins…

Still, as for being beta, chrome has definitely taken us with surprise with its superior browsing…

  14. yeahhhhhhhhhhhh n i don hv to use Ctrl+T for new tab :P

  15. To copy favourites

click on other bookmarks tab in chrome window and open bokmark manager

copy favorites from C:\users\(your USER_NAME)\favorites and paste in bookmark manager..
